On November 21st, ImpacTech officially launched ImpacTech Thailand, in Bangkok.
The event took place at The Hive Bangkok Ltd rooftop garden and an overwhelming crowd of distinguished guests came to learn about ImpacTech plans and activities in Thailand.
The event was hosted by Asian Venture Philanthropy Network – AVPNand Mr. Doug Miller, chairman of AVPN, was a guest speaker, followed by Ms. Eden Pozin, Head of the Economic and Trade Mission at the Israeli Embassy, Israel in Thailand in Bangkok, and our local partners KP Venture Partners.
Doug Miller, chairman of AVPN and the European counterpart, especially came from the USA, where he resides and Ms. Eden Pozin, head of the Economic & Trade Office at The Israeli Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand both spoke and attended this event. Ms. Eden Pozin said โThailand has great human capital. The young generation is talented, skilled and diligent. The challenge as I see it, is to combine these elements into a thriving ecosystem. The system that will encourage investors and researchers to take risks upon their great ideas, and more importantly, turn these ideas into products or services that can solve societyโs problems. The launch of the Acceleration Educational Program is a part of a process of sharing experience and successful innovation models between Israel and Thailand.โ
Mr. Yoav Elgrichi, co-founder ofย ImpacTech said during the announcement event that the program is aiming to turn Thailand into โa regional hub for social tech leaders. Kineret Karin, co-founder of ImpacTech thinks there are enough interesting social startups in Thailand and excellent human resources ย to justify bringing the program to start in Bangkok.
ImpacTech believes in bringing together upstart innovation and corporate experience as a key to the success of startups and are looking forward to have onboard local and global corporates as active partners in the Thai program.
Ms. Kineret Karin and Mr. Yoav Elgrichi, from ImpacTech Singapore and Mr. Narith Phadungchai from KP Venture Partners are working together to create a home for Social Tech startups in Thailand and expand the startups eco-system in Thailand to become one of the leading eco-systems in the region.
